This must have been covered somewhere, but I find little about it by searching...

How do top.php and bottom.php work?  I saw them and had high hopes.  I stuck an include statement in there with my banner and buttons, but it did absolutely nothing.  What do I need to do to get it to take?

Also, could someone clarify template.php?  I mean, people keep talking about it, but I don't actually have one.  If I rename template.html to template.php, I see that the program goes and finds the php version though.  Weird thing is that I can put a <? include "..." ?> in the template.html and it magically works (sort of).  How's that?

The "sort of" is that the Java in the included file gives errors when it works on other pages.  Any ideas?

Hope this isn't too many questions... thanks!

This is only if you have 1.1.0 installed:

add the tags <yabb top> and <yabb bottom> into the template.php, at the position where you want to have top.php or bottom.php included.

In 1.3.0 this will be different.

You dont have a template.php because you probably deleted it.  There is no reason to have template.php.  All you need is template.html.  the php file is for yabb.info... the html is what ur boards are supposed to use but you can use a php file so that the server will parse it
