news fader

after running a conversion which went error free, im getting an error which is refuring to the text set for the news fader message, i want to check it out but can't find where the text it stored, it doesn't seem to have a news.txt file so where is the message stored in yabbse and now can i change it,

btw. this error is stopping the forum from running so if u can change it in the control pannel or something that isn't going to help here.

what version are you using?  what is the error message?  what did you convert from?  what is your mother's maiden name (no just kidding).

check your settings table in mysql

can u explain some more, i don't know how to use the myslq area to do anything, in the database theres a link for yabbse_settings table, but once inside i don't know what to do from there

i assume that you are using phpmyadmin.

You click the magnigying glass next to the table link.  Then you go to the "news" row.  It will have a link there for edit.  You can click that to see all your news.  For right now just delete it all.  Dont chagne the variable.  Just hte value.

ok i found it thanks, i was just clicking on the name not the icon next to it, and they load completely different things

but before i found that i actually replaced the default news message and converted it again, and it still causes an error so now im stuck,
