Webspace requirements....?

I'm new to all this forum business and thinking of getting one for when I get my new web host.  What I was wondering is how much webspace I'd need for a board with about 5,000 messages?  It'll take an age to reach that total so I'm not too concerned about bandwidth, just on the space needed.

Any ideas would be appreciated.  Cheers.

The database for our forum here is 7.8MB, that includes almost 17,000 messages (5.8MB) and 1500 instant messages (500kb).
