php version conflict?

converter.php uses mysql_escape_string(), which means we're working with PHP>= 4.0.3... My host still has 4.0.0  :'(

How to solve? Will it influence the functioning of SE any further?

chances are it will affect a number of things....is there any way to convince your host to upgrade it? even if just to 4.05 (as opposed to 4.1) ??

I'll try and convince the host of upgrading... could this maybe also be the cause of the problems I had with the table prefix?

AARGH, my host will not upgrade for a few weeks... WHAT THE HECK IS A FEW WEEKS?

At least two I suppose.... now I won't have the nice Christmas you will all have.... well, I do have the new Tea Party album, so that will be kind of compensating :P

Anywayz, maybe someone could alter the PHP version, mentioned in the download section, it should be at least 4.0.3, 'cause some functions are not supported in 4.0.0. (which my host ... hosts ... has... whatever)

Well, my host promised me, he'll upgrade to 4.0.6. How about that! Ha! And I didn't even have to threat him with extreme measures if he didn't upgrade... :P

Well anyway... 4.0.6 will do just fine... doesn't it?
