onFocus onBlur ?!

I tried to add this code in the CSS style in the tamplate to the input fields:

onFocus="this.style.backgroundColor='red' "; onBlur="this.style.backgroundColor='blue' ";
But it doesnt work like this!

It would be able to add this code in every input and text field manually, but that would be a lot of work!

Anyone a better idea?

Make a javascript that scans for the input fields and adds the events to them.
AFAIK, there's no way to do this via css, other than making a htc, which will only work on IE unfortunatly. So you're stuck with the javascript I guess.
