Make it possible for normal users to mark their OWN thread as completed

How about a completed vs. a closed value...

completed means the original poster feels it should be closed, but can still be posted in.. the original poster has the option of undoing this also though.
 
maybe some sort of visual cue can be put at the 'completed' point in the thread, so that posts after that can be realized by others as 'not applied' or 'ignored' *shrug*
 
closed means its closed, done, locked, over.  This is done by mods.
 
could be an interesting option that I've never seen anywhere else before, but wished I had a number of times in diffrent message boards...
