template question

Question:
I have modified my template.php to include another cell that runs along side of my board (both the board and the extra cell are under yabb's default header).

My question is this: Can someone tell me how to make this cell only appear on the main page? I would like to make that extra cell disappear if a user is actively browsing the boards. The link is posted, and any help will be greatly appreciated.
