Guest Posting and Private Messages

Problem Description:
I've got two questions:

First, even though I've disabled guest posting, there's a rare occasion where a guest is able to post for some reason.  Why is that?

Second, I had a member say that she had a new private message which she hadn't read when she logged off, and then later, the board said she had a message, but 0 were new.  She's worried that the board is being hacked or that her private messages are being read.  Apparently it has happened more than once, since she says she changed her password and it still happened.  Anyone have any ideas as to why this would occur?

On the first, a use could have deleted themself.  Upon deletion, all posts are put in the name of a guest by the same name.

On the second point - I don't know.  Is she sure she isn't loading the instant messages page?
