Prompt password change after random password is sent

would be good if there's a screen for changing password after a random password has been generated, through forget password feature or a new registration

this way the user wont complain in the future if he/she doesn't remember his/her password because he/she hasn't change it from the random one

When a user gets a random password - I think they should have the option to change their password easily to something they can remember.

how about in the login section?

example:
forget password | change password

user has to fill int he following fields;

current password
new password:
verify new password:

Yes, on first login, a password change screen would be very cool.
And maybe to integrate your redirect after registering, it could be a combination thing.  If this is the first login (I think that's stored in the db), send them to a simplied/custom profile page that makes the password changing stand out along with a few of the other common settings that a lot of users never even notice.

i think it would be easier for people to get there password emailed back to them if they forgot it by entering there email and user name, because if they forgot there password how are they going to enter it to change it?

i meant after the random password is sent, and the user has logged in, it requests the user to change his/her password

lemme know!  Sounds like the answer to many of my  new users woes.  Amazing how many folk out there have such little grasp of using simple browser technology or reading and comprehending directions.  This helps to spoon feed them into the forum, so to speak. multiple sighs
