users can't select own pic as avatar

I'm running 1.4.1, and recently noticed that users can't select their own pics for avatars... the board times out when trying to submit changes to the profile when a url to a personal avatar pic is entered.
Any fixes, or stuff? :)

Btw, I did upgrade to 1.5.3, but the version check still says 1.4.1... or was it 1.5.1 I upgraded to :) ..
Anyways, the avatars work now, thanks again.
