Alright, this is more of an inquiry than a problem, as it really isn't a big deal. I'm just curious. As of writing: yabbse.org has this:

8675 members
147,742 posts
11 categories
39 boards

And it generally loads a bit over a tenth of a second, a lot of the time below that. My board has this:

54 members
1501 posts
6 categories
16 boards

And it generally loads at around .3-.7 seconds. Still really fast, I'm just curious if this is a host thing, or if you guys do something I don't? I've tried optimizing, which seemed to help a bit, but load times are still pretty consistent. No attachments, not very many sigs, not image heavy at all. Any ideas? Just my host?

EDIT: Shorturl's mod and remove clicklog mod already installed too.

It all boils down to how your host has PHP and MySQL configured.

Alrighty. I figured it was probably more a host thing than a YaBBSE thing simply because of how fast this site runs on it. I'm still not get sub .3 pages, even got one over a second. Do you know if there are any specific settings I can look at in phpinfo or ask my host about? Or should I just be happy with my load times and stop being so weird about it?

 some stuff you can do to lower the CPU usage:
- disable the log click (highly recommended) -> there's a mod for this
- disable Track Hits
- disable Compressed Output -> it's a trade off between CPU and bandwidth usage
- disable mail features: notification, welcome email, etc
