Logging in as member- then suddenly a guest??

I hope I am posting this in the right place?

Suddenly, I notice that when i go to log on, if i don't tick the "stay logged in" box, I am thrown in as a guest and cannot do anything as a member (post, view im's etc)

I think this has suddenly appeared, but cannot be sure.

Has anyone else had this problem or know a cure for it??

Check your server time, PHP version, etc.

I ahve just looked at [Unknown]'s FAQ at the top of this section (sorry for not looking first)
It tells me to check the time ofset.
My forum is 7 mins behind, how do i set that? and would that do it?

...........
Ok. I have done this bit. but still cannot stay logged in unless I tick the "Stay logged in" box.

Were you able to log in without ticking the "stay logged in" box?
I have just tried it and got the same error message?

It worked for me both ways.

But, as I said in the IM.... you should ask Gobalopper.  (he wrote the Advanced IM mod.)

I don't think it is an AD-IM problem, as no matter where i go after i have logged in, the same thing happens.
It doesn't seem to carry the cookie info acroos to the next page.

I will have a word with my hosts, see if they know what it is about.

I had that problem before. I fixed it by deleteing my cookies before logging in. I dont know why it worked, but it did.
