Hi!

I'm currently using v1.4.1 for my forum, and it have some speed-problems...
I have about 5,000 users & 300,000 messages on my board, and most of the time there's like 100 members online.

Anyone here have a forum of this size, that upgraded to 1.5.1 and saw an improvement on speed ?

Also, should I wait for the final version, or you believe the build 45 is "mature" enough ?

Thanks!

I'd talk to Compuart.  He just upgraded www.eldaronline.com and www.40k.ca.

Hmm, both websites seem very slow right now but are two of the largest YSE boards around.

eldaronline's forum sidebar still isnt showing properly on mozilla :

@Enc0der: it will be a good idea to make backup first before upgrading ;)

1.5.1 will almost assuredly speed your board(s) up.  Not only are the mark read tables faster, but the queries too. (in key places.)

Now, I only brag because it's fun.... (actually, I was doing it at first because it annoyed Floris :P, but now it's just 'cuz it's fun to see what people say...) but I have been working on a project that not only adds many features people have been asking for, but also speeds things up by approximately 20% to 30% on most servers.

However, I keep adding more features and thinking of new things I can do... (to think, I was at first just going to do Display.php, BoardIndex.php, and MessageIndex.php... now I've like rewritten every file.) so I wouldn't hold my breath :P.

One Database - Two forums, some shared, some not.  11000+ users, 300k+ posts, 30k+ topics.

It's not horribly slow, nor is it extremely fast.  It's at a decent speed and works good for me now.  It used to be a lot slower (like 30 seconds to load a page).

But Compuart has done a great job with it and has turned it into a speedy and respectable board.

When our second site opens, we expect traffic to double (at least) so that will be a good test for 1.5.1.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
