One host, multiple installs?

I would like to give a YaBB to a friend

But I already have one at http://www.auzzie.net/forum/

I would like to put another one at http://www.auzzie.net/yadda/ - but don't know if I can, and if doing so will break it?

I know it would need a separate DB, but I thought I'd ask first, lest I end up frying my yabbie.

You can do this.  You don't need to use a new database but rather a different table prefix.  Also make sure you name his cookies differently than yours.

Totally depends on the server.  Boardnation is currently hosting over 200 boards on one server, about 150 users per database with no load problems.  The server is a P4 1Ghz 512mb ram, but any host should be able to handle the load of two forums.

you are absolutly right david, but a shared server with 200 boards is another thing as the typically shared servers with thousends of php-scripts like phpnuke and boards on one ip!
